James Everett Bishop

January 13, 1935 — November 19, 2022

James Everett Bishop, age 87 of Beavercreek, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was born January 13, 1935 in Somerset, Kentucky, the son of the late Alonzo and Nona Bishop.

James lived in Wyoming, OH for more than 50 years, was a member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He also retired from GE Evendale as an inspector of jet engines. James enjoyed fishing and camping, and was a "jack of all trades" when it came to carpentry. He was proud of his family and was always willing to help.

James had a large family and is survived by his sister, Alfreda J. (Jack) Ritzi; his daughters, Catherine (Larry D.) Green, Amy (Shawn) Erb; grandchildren, Hannah (Eric) Vande Griend, Cameron Nawaz (Elyse Ault), Tim Green, Jason (Joy) Erb, Joshua (Katherine) Erb, Nicole (Brian) Schmitz, Heather (Dillon) Ruth; 10 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Slater; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Eva Frances Bishop; siblings, William Bishop, Alvin "John" Bishop, Virginia Hinkle, Lloyd Bishop, Roscoe Bishop, Clyde Bishop, and Hazel Bishop.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date. James will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery in Springdale, OH with his wife, Eva and his parents.
