BEASON, James S. "Jay" age 48 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton after suffering ongoing complications from a 1998 heart transplant. Jay is a 1976 graduate of Vandalia Butler High School who joined the Navy where he proudly served for 18 years. During that time he spent 11 years at sea and was involved in 6 conflicts before retiring as a Senior Chief in October of 1995. In his last years Jay's creativity, love of freedom, travel and adventure were expressed in building and showing "muscle cars". He was preceded in death by his father Carl Beason and his grandparents Horace and Ester Beason. He is survived by his children Rachel and Daniel Beason, his mother and Elizabeth Beason; brother John and wife Teri Beason; sister Carol and husband Bill Corneliuson; nephew Josh and wife Jenna Beason; niece Brandy Beason; two great nieces; one great nephew; along with many other beloved relatives and friends.
