James E. Baughman, 81, of Riverside, passed away on January 2, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by loving family members.
He was born on September 13, 1937 to Russell and Martha (Edwards) Baughman in Dayton, Ohio.
He married Shelby (Sergent) Baughman on August 4, 1956. The two moved to Dayton, Ohio where they raised their family of four children. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
James was proud Veteran of the Army National Guard. He was also a Journeyman for Toolmaking. He enjoyed designing and building things.
James worked as an electrician on the Kettering Towers and engineered other projects. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved to read and as a result became proficient in other areas, including construction, electrical work, plumbing, etc. James loved to sing and whistle, and was very talented.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shelby Jean; and his son, Keith Baughman.
James E. Baughman leaves to cherish his memory, children, Kimberly Robinson, Karen Baughman, and Kennith (Jackie) Baughman; grandchildren, Jessica (William) Purtell, Amy (Tommy) Slade, Stephanie (Brandon Lamsdale) Robinson, Samantha (Jimi) Wilson, Janet (Jeffrey) Blankenship, Richard Baughman, and Rachel Baughman; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Joseph, Rosemarie, Samuel, Cameron, Bridget, Lucas, Anna, Jonathan, Cheyenne, Kristina, Jordan, Makenzie, Skylar, and Avery; great-great-grandson, Braelon; and many other loving relatives and friends.
There will be a time for Visitation with family and friends for the sharing of memories in celebration of James' life. This will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel.
