James B. Poteet

Poteet, James B. "Jim", age 78, of Miamisburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Jim was a United States Army Veteran proudly serving during the Korean War. He retired as a Store Manager with Kroger and started a second career at Prudential as a life insurance agent and financial analyst. Along with his wife, Jim enjoyed spending much of his time at their second residence in Tucson, AZ.

Jim is survived by his wife of over 54 years: Vivian M. (Munsey) Poteet; son: Roger Poteet of Miamisburg; daughter: Cynthia Poteet of Fairborn; granddaughter: Alexandria "Lexie" Miller; brother: Dewey (Jessie) Poteet of Huber Heights; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank & Maudie (Price) Poteet.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Pastor Robert Legg Sr. officiating. Interment will follow the service at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
