Deacon James C Abney, 58, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2017. Deacon Abney was born in Aiken, South Carolina on January 27, 1959 to Frank and Carrie Dorns. He served as head deacon at New Life United Christian Fellowship Church and dedicated his life to the Lord and the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Yvonne Dorns and brother, Leroy Dorns. He is survived by his loyal wife of 38 years, Janet K Abney. He is survived by his two sisters, Doris Smalls and Frankie Dorns, his six sons: William (Tracy) Danner, Larry Danner, Adam Danner, Willie Edwards, Deon T (Sherry) Hunter, Darnel Hunter, and Vernon Baker and daughter Antoinette Edwards, Joell Walke and Rochelle Vipperman, and a host of other family and friends. We would like to thank Deacon Abney's very close friend, Bishop Melvin Holmes for his long-time friendship and support.
