James A. Herzog
Age 66, of Trotwood, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at his home after an extended illness.
Jim is survived by his wife of the past 48 years, Carolyn I. (Hopkins) Herzog; his mother, Dorothy E. Herzog; four children, Tony L. (Debbie) Austin, Kathy L. (Rodney) Floyd, Lisa R. (Chris) Hickman & Jamie K. (Mark) Hawk; ten grandchildren, Lindsay (Jessie), Brandon (Crystal), Andrew (Tara), Tyler, Heather (Tim), David (Stephanie), Wade, Charles, Sarah and Maria; eight great grandchildren, Shannyn, Savannah, Brenton, Caleb, Riley, Sydney, T.J. and Tambra; one sister, Linda (Leonard) Leffew; four brothers, Chuck (Marie), Bill (Rosemary), Frank (Barbara) and Mike (Dena) Herzog; and by his extended family and many good friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Walter B. Herzog.
Jim was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a member of the American Legion and AmVets. He was formerly employed by Dayton Tire & Rubber.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday (8/24), at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home with interment to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
