James A. Chapman Sr.

May 4, 1943 — June 6, 2012

James A. Chapman Sr., age 69, of West Carrollton, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 6, 2012.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman & Amanda (Carroll) Chapman; brothers, Oscar, Johnny and David Chapman; and sister, Josie Miller. He is

survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Sylvia Chapman; daughters, Tina Turner and Tammy (Mark) Goodman; son, James (Chera) Chapman Jr.; step-son, Tim Edwards; step-daughter, Tina Edwards Farmer; sisters, Betsy Heatherly, Ailene Farris, Minnie Gibson and Sarah Towe; brothers, Phillip and Albert Chapman; 10 grandchildren; 1 step-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim worked at GM Delphi for 33 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 11, 2012 from 10-11 am at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 11 am. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Hospice of Dayton.
