Jacqueline Salahuddin, age 74 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Grandview Hospital. She was born December 23, 1945 in Richmond, Indiana the daughter of the late Willie and Elizabeth Jennings.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Salahuddin; brothers, James Jennings, Willie Jennings Jr. and Billy Jennings.
Jacqueline is survived by her children, Carmelita Barber, Shanita (Shawn) Salahuddin-Dunson, Leon Salahuddin; grandchildren, Antonio L. Wright, Raheem R. Salahuddin, QaNysha J. Barber, Zakiyyah S. Salahuddin; great grandchildren, Traceya J. Salahuddin, Phoenix S.R. Barber, Rhyan L. Salahuddin, Da'Vonni A. Salahuddin; sisters, Shirley (Earl) Reid, Debbie Byrd; brothers, Larry Jennings, Michael (Lolita) Jennings, David Jennings; as well as many other relatives and special friends.
Jacqueline enjoyed music and dancing. In the past, she loved to cook. She enjoyed clothes and shopping, especially at Goodwills and thrift stores. She was always looking for the perfect "blue blouse." Mom loved life.. a gentle yet strong spirited woman with a heart of gold. A pillar of her family and extended family. She always had a way with words, yet always willing to listen. She could command your attention with her infinite wisdom offering encouragement and love with open arms to anyone who came in her presence. You couldn't walk away without being enlightened because she had a way of leaving an impression. And though she birthed 3 children of her own, she was respectively called "Mom" by many....you couldn't deny her motherly love. And Family....she had a deep love for her family and always looked for every opportunity to spend quality time with her family. She gave her life and time to promote the unity of family all the way until the day God called her home. She will always be remembered for her beautiful soul, her love of family and her passion to always be a positive influence in the life of others.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH 45424). A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 pm.
