Jackie L. Plummer, a beloved member of the community, passed away on September 26, 2024 in Dayton, Ohio, after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 27, 1946, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, and graduated from Lewis County High School in 1964. Jackie served his country honorably in the Army as a SP5 from 1965-1968, a time that shaped character and instilled in him a strong sense of dedication and service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #200 in Huber Heights.
Jackie's career saw him work at NCR before retiring from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. His professional life was marked by his excellent work ethic and commitment to his job, but it was his vibrant personality that truly defined him. An extremely outgoing individual, Jackie was known as the party planner among friends and family, ensuring that every gathering was filled with laughter and joy. He had a remarkable ability to bring people together, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. Jackie was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Kentucky Wildcats, and Cincinnati Reds.
Jackie is lovingly remembered by his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Jeanne Plummer, and his brothers, Nelson Plummer and Dennis Plummer. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Linda Stafford, Sandra "Jo" Kinsel, and Barbara (Howard) McCann, brother-in-law, Doug Hawley; along with his nephews, Dave Hawley and Stephen Kinsel; and niece, Sarah Herzer.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Matthew Plummer who passed away on May 27th, 2018, as well as his parents, Ralph & Stella Plummer, and his brothers-in-law, Kerby Kinsel and Alan Marks.
Jackie L. Plummer will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will carry his spirit of fun and camaraderie for celebration in their hearts forever.
