Jackie Neal Rodgers

Jackie Rodgers, age 73, Dayton, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Pleasureville, KY, son of Elmer & Fannie Rogers on April 11, 1935. He was a retired employee of McCall/Dayton Press and past employee of Children's Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Kenneth Rogers, Vivian Greene and Robert White. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons Antione Rodgers, Phoenix, AZ, Earl Rodgers, Dayton, OH; devoted nieces Valecia (Guy) Roberson, Dayton, OH; grandson, Earl Rodgers, Jr., Dayton, OH; brother, Charles (Corrine) Rogers, Tucson, AZ; sisters, Peggy Chambers, Shelbyville, KY, Garnetta Robinson, Cincinnati, OH, Zelma (William Jr.) McCorry, and Sue Greene, both of Dayton, OH; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins & friends; special friends, Evelyn Allman, Carolyn Dixon & Jennifer, John & Mattie Washington all of Dayton, OH. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Wayman Chapel AME Church, 3317 Hoover Ave., Dayton, OH 45407, Rev Dr. Ronald L. Glenn, officiating, interment Woodland Cemetery. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of service. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel.
