Jackie L. "Jack" Center, age 77 of Kettering, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018. He was born February 11, 1941 in Hazel Green, KY.
Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Perry Destroyer. He enjoyed time with his family, loved to fish, hunt and shoot; and passed his passion on to his children and grandchildren. Jack liked exploring his family history and history in general, especially military history. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Jackie is survived by his wife Penny; four sons, Jeffrey (Donna), John, Scott (Susan) and Joey (Beth); a daughter, Shannon (Anthony) Schwartz; fourteen grandchildren, Brandy, Sierra, Brittany, Colt, Jaclyn, Jack, Jake, Abby, Zach, Samantha, Mackenzie, Ashley, Maverick, and AJ; four great grandchildren, Ava, Eve, Jameson and Effie; two sisters, Peggy O'Day-Center and Pat (Ralph) Welch; and other numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Fern (Day) Center; and a brother, Fred Center.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Kettering, 3939 Swigart Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45440. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at the church at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek, OH.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made in Jack's name to the Gary Sinise Foundation, PO Box 368, Woodland Hills, CA 91365 which supports our US Veteran's or visit https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/.
