Jack Mees Shively
Age 78, of Dayton, went to Heaven Thursday, February 7, 2008, after a lengthy illness.
Born September 3, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor G, and parents Albert M. and Gertrude F. Shively.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Chrys Meatyard of Clayton, Ohio and Cathy Miller of Alpha, Ohio; 2 sons, Michael and Mark, both of Kettering; 3 brothers Robert of Rahway, New Jersey, Richard of Dayton, and David of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his beloved companion, Apache.
Jack was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout his lifetime, and was a devoted husband. His memory will live in our hearts forever.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family extends a special Thank You to the medical professionals who cared for him during his illness.
