Jack Marion Lay

Lay, Jack Marion, age 82, of Kettering, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday, September 26, 2011. Jack is survived by son: Curtis (Lynn) Lay of Worthington, Ohio and their daughter: Keira Lay of Las Vegas, NV; son: Merrill (Sharon) Lay of Daytona Beach, FL and their children: Reed & Jamie Lay both of Daytona Beach, FL; daughter: Jackie Lay and her son: Joshua (Briann) Bowling of Centerville and their son: Kaesyn Bowling; daughter: Evon (Reed) Drake of Fresno, CA and their son: Matthew Drake; sister: Marilyn Cowan of Kirksville, MO; brother: Andy Lay of Sylmar, CA; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harlan & Voilet (Billington) Lay; and brother: Jerry Lay. Jack attended Kirksville High School in Kirksville, MO and was a United States Air Force Veteran proudly serving his country for over 26 years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio with Jack's brother: Andy Lay officiating. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VA Hospice in memory of Jack. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Dayton, especially: Linda, Michelle, Heidi and Whitney, for all of their care.
