Jack Thomas Kennedy, age 15, of Dayton, OH passed away peacefully at home on September 7, 2019. Jack was born on December 16, 2003 in Dayton, Ohio. He was the son of James Kennedy and Dalia Bartosik. Jack was a student of Centerville High School.
Jack was a bright and fun loving young man. His smile would light-up a room and warm the hearts of those around him. During his brief life, he became an inspiration and a joy for his parents, family and many dear friends. Jack especially enjoyed being outdoors and attending concerts in Stubbs Park and riding the train at Kings Island. He loved anything to do with Star Wars and Disney. Caramel-vanilla cheesecake was one his favorite treats. Christmas was Jack's favorite time of the year. He and his family would spend hours decorating the house, Christmas tree and even Jack's special chair with Christmas lights and ornaments. One year his parents took lights and garland to the hospital to decorate his hospital room.
Along with his parents, Jack is survived by his brothers, Wyatt Anderson Kennedy and William Bartosik; step-mother, Judith Kennedy; step-father, Jeb Bartosik step-brothers, Jonathan Bartosik and Ethan Touhey; step-sisters, Kristin Bartosik and Samantha Touhey; maternal-grandfather, Darrel Hopper; paternal-grandfather, James Kennedy; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal-grandmother, Chahira Hopper; and paternal-grandmother, Doris Kennedy.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 13, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 5:00 pm at Newcomers with Pastor Austin McMahan of South Brook Church officiating. Cremation will follow at a later date.
Jack's family would like to extend their heart-felt thanks to all of those individuals who were Jack's caregivers that provided exceptional, loving care throughout his life. Friend's are suggested to make memorial contributions in Jack's name to his favorite pastimes, Adventures in Movement and Top Soccer.
