P. Jack Harding, 79, passed away in the early morning hours on Tuesday, June 15th 2021. He was born in Gambier, Ohio to Wesley and Mildred Harding, the youngest of his two brothers and two sisters who have all gone on before him. Jack graduated from Gambier High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Jack spent much of his life dedicated with compassion in service to others, from his time in the church, running group homes and finally within the realm of social services. A long-time resident of Greene County, Jack was the Director of the Department of Job and Family Services for 25 years, retiring in 2001. Harding Place, a transitional housing program for the homeless, located in Xenia, is named in his honor. Jack is survived by his three wonderful sons, Michael, Thomas (Stacey) and Matthew and has finally gone to join the love of his life Ray Lodwig who preceded him in death in 2014. A celebration of his life will be held at a point to be determined sometime in the future. Please feel free to send any notes or expressions of sympathy to jack.harding@pex.net. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please send contributions in honor of Jack to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420 - www.hospiceofdayton.org.
