Jack Robert 'J.R' Erwin, 61, passed away peacefully at home, 3 Dec 2014, in Springfield, OH. He was born in Xenia, OH., 17 July 1953, the son of the late James Robert and Martha FROCK Erwin. He is survived by his children: Jack and Jason and their mother, Glenna DICK Erwin Foreman; Jacob, Jenna, Jerrica, and James Erwin and their mother, Maria SPRAUER Erwin (Ron) Bechtold; sisters and brothers: Marjorie A. Morris, James N. (Rita) Erwin, Jerry W. (Roberta) Erwin, Judy M. Cornick; grandchildren: Tyler Erwin Wilkerson, Tristin, Preston and Pierceton Erwin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his cat Smokey. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Jack attended elementary school at Cedarville High School; Jr. High at Hayward, graduated from Springfield South High School in 1971 and attended Clark State Community College. He started his work career at the Yellow Springs Police Dept. as Clerk/Dispatcher, Miami Twp. Fire Dept., Beavercreek Police, Sugarcreek Twp. Police, Oregon Exterminating, (Owner) Oregon Golf Cart Systems (owner), Clark State Community College-Adjunct Faculty, Montgomery Co. CTC Police Academy-Adjunct Faculty, Greene Co. Common Pleas-Juvenile Division, Dream Sports Arenas, Head Coach of Mites, Bantam, and Midget Hockey Teams and Erwin Farms. Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH) Tuesday, 9 Dec 2014, from 12 noon - 2 PM.
