Jack Craft, age 69, of Dayton rode through Heaven's gates September 3, 2013 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Cancer didn't win because he never let it break his spirit.
Jack grew up in Dayton and graduated from Chaminade. He was a pattern maker and became the proud owner of Precision Patterns. He retired at the age of 50. He was a member of The Miami Valley Trail Riders where he pursued his love of dirt bike riding and motorcross. Jack also loved riding his Harley, boating at his home at St. Mary's and spending his winters at his home in Pine Island, FL. He never knew a stranger. To know him was to love him. He worked harder, played harder and fought harder than any man ever. Jack was born to Howard & Martha on January 7, 1944.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Muth and his Pappy, Richard Muth.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Craft-who he referred to as an angel in street clothes; his kids, Mark Craft, Lisa Craft, Vicki (Lukie) Brock, Kelly (Jerry) Young and Maria Warren; his grandchildren, Stevie Brock, Josh Craft, Clayton and Emily Williams; his siblings, Bill (Glenna), Bob (Diane), Tom (Pat), Jim (Linda), Mary, Chuck (Tom), Betty (Roger) and Mike (Ann); and a host of cousins; nieces and nephews. Jack had many special friends that he considered family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 5-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory to The Hospice of Dayton or PanCan.org.
