Jack Harry Cotterman, age 82, of Kettering passed away on April 26, 2024 after a three year battle with Crohn's disease. He was born in Dayton on January 31, 1942 to the late Harry and Wiladine (Hormel) Cotterman. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his four faithful dogs, Sebra, Brandy, Ginger and Dixie.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cecelia "Cyd" M. (Grant) Cotterman. Those who will also miss him are the Sew-A-Lot, Stitches, JoAnn's and Fabric Shack, businesses where he purchased many gift certificates for Cecelia's quilting hobby, of which she IS a "genius".
Jack worked at NCR in the R&D department after serving in the United States Navy during the early 60's. He was a volunteer firefighter for Kettering for 10 years and a lifetime member of the Kettering FOPA Lodge #58 since 1968. He loved woodworking, electronics, HAM radio and belonged to the Dayton Skywarn Weather group. Jack graduated from Sinclair College with degrees in Electronic Engineering, Business and Fire Science; he was also working towards a Police Administration degree. Now he's back home with family, friends and Jesus.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2025 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton. Pastor Doug Surber to officiate.
