Kastl, Jack Charles, age 79, of Riverside, passed away December 12, 2008 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on August 11, 1929 in Dayton, OH, the son of John and Matilda (Fink) Kastl. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Triff. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nancy Loraine (Paul) Kastl; sister, Mary Lou Foran; one son, Jeffrey (Tara) Wood, Frisco, TX; 2 granddaughters, Manessa (James) Walker and Jessica (Marcus) Lopez of TX; one grandson, Jeffrey Jr., of Wyoming; two great-grandsons, Matthew Walker and Christopher Lopez of TX; two nephews, Don (Ruth) Foran of Dayton and Landy Triff of Folson, CA; three nieces, Darlene Barlow of Monterey, TN, Jackie of CA, and Connie (Stephen) McAlpin of Montana. Jack served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1996 with over 18 years of service. Prior to GM, he worked in area Tool & Die Shops as a Toolmaker. The family will be receiving friends from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home on Thursday, with Bishop Ronald Coleman and Pastor Tom Friend from the New Life Worship Center officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
