BARNARD, Jack R., age 86, moved on to his next life on Friday, June 18, 2010.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose Eileen; children, Karen(Bob) Steiger, Pam (John) Slouffman, Diane Westhafer, Rosann Patterson, John (Terri) Barnard and Marilou (Dave) Beckley; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; special cat, Miss Kitty; numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Louise Barnard; uncle, George Reasoner.
He is a WWII veteran in the United States Army serving with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy and received 2 Bronze Stars. The best part of his life was his family and the camaraderie at VFW Post 2800. Have a drink and toast to Jack.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 22 at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 2300 South Smithville Rd. 45420. Family will receive friends at 9:00 AM at the church until time of service. Interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery with Military Honors at 11:00 AM. Family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton in Jack's memory.
