Ivonette Rainey

January 17, 1973 — February 15, 2025

Dayton, Ohio

Ivonette "Nette" Rainey, a beloved mother, partner, friend, and caretaker, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, on February 15, 2025. Born on January 17, 1973, in Dayton, Ohio, Nette's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and adventurous spirit.

For fifteen years, Nette dedicated her career to the medical field, embodying kindness and compassion that resonated not only with her patients but also her colleagues. A true caretaker at heart, she spread warmth through her love and care, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who crossed her path.

Nette was not just known for her professional achievements, but also for the joyous memories she created with her family. Her laughter would fill the room and her love for spending holidays together will remain a cherished memory for all. Nette thrived in the company of her beloved children: Keith Kelly, Kalup Releford, Ja'Ashley Mabry, Eric Mabry, Ivynn Spears, and La'Vonna Spears. She found immeasurable joy in being a grandmother to Kemontae, Jazire, Ava, Andraya, Jazlynn, Aleena, Kash, Karter, and Jovante, who will carry her legacy in their hearts.

In addition to her role as a devoted mother and grandmother, Nette was blessed with a loving family that included her siblings, Larry Herd, Angela (Berry) Rainey, Debbie Rainey, Tiffany Rainey, Chris Rainey and Keisha Spears. Her favorite cousin, Cook, and beloved uncle Tony, along with her auntie Debbie, were constant sources of love and laughter in her life, deeply enriching her journey.

Nette is remembered fondly by her longtime partner, Marlon, who stood by her side through life's highs and lows, and by Lloyd, her fiancé, who shared numerous cherished moments with her. Nette was also graced with the company of dear friends, including Dawonna, Kenya, LaDonya, and DeDe, who all held a special place in her heart. A multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends added to the tapestry of her rich life, each contributing to the love and joy that surrounded her.

Beyond her career and family life, Nette had a zest for living that shone brightly through her hobbies and interests. She relished traveling, listening to music, and indulging in self-pampering, always ensuring her nails and lashes were done to perfection. Nette's adventurous spirit was infectious, inspiring those around her to embrace life fully and joyously.

Among her proudest accomplishments was being crowned a beauty pageant queen, showcasing her natural charm and grace.

As we remember Ivonette Rainey, we celebrate a kind-hearted soul whose laughter will echo in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She will be deeply missed, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and adventure that will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege to know her.
