Ivanette Lucille Whipkey

Whipkey, Ivanette Lucille age 88, of Xenia, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020. She was born in Mahnomen, Minnesota on July 17, 1932 to the late Henry B. and Esther C. Terway (nee Hanson).

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol, Idella, Estelle, May, and Eloise; and daughter-in-law, Rona Whipkey.

Ivanette is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Del Ross Whipkey; children, Steven R. Whipkey, Jennifer E. (Mark) Nyffeler; informally adopted family, Omar and Nora Arbelaez; grandchildren, Zachariah R., Melody, Omar Jr., Vanessa, Nicolas, Brandi, Melissa, and Richard; sister, Lorna Schulz; and a host of other family members and friends.

Ivanette had a strong faith foundation in God and had many talents. She created many dolls with their own stories for family members and friends. These dolls are still being passed down through the generations. Ivanette was a great cook and seamstress. Many people called her mom and dearly loved her. Ivanette was a wonderful wife and mother.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432 followed by Funeral Service at 4:00 pm.

Ivanette will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery.

The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face masks be worn in all public places.
