SMITH, IVAN ARTISTIS
82 of Dayton, passed away Monday, July 5, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton. Ivan was born August 12, 1921, the son of Ova and Stella Smith. He served our country in the United States Army during World War II. Ivan was a member of the Masonic Solar Lodge #730; Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Antioch Shrine, Temple Guard (21 years); Life Member of AMVETS, Post 99 of Vandalia; and American Legion, Post 668 of Vandalia. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise Smith (nee Davis); son, Ivan O. "Neal" Smith of Vandalia; son-in-law, Donald (Ruth) Brown of Vandalia; sisters, Imogene Ritchie of Charlestown, IN, Ida Mae (Jack) Strong of Hazard, KY, Betty (Gene) Weyer of Charlestown, IN, and Ruth (Fred) Teague of Port St. Lucie, FL; brother, R.C. (Opal) Smith of Olympia, KY; grandchildren, Craig D. (Kim) Smith of Franklin, OH, Heather (Bobby) Cox of Huber Heights, OH, and Kandice Smith of Brookville, OH; 5 great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; our special family the Oneys; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Jean C. Brown. Family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2004 at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Masonic services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday with interment following in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Terrell Hudson will officiate. Contributions may be given to Antioch Shrine Building Corp., Shriner's Hospitals, or Hospice of Dayton.
