Ivan L. Rock

Ivan L. Rock, age 83, of West Carrollton, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Lillian Rock; mother of his children, Joyce Rock; son Stephen Rock; and brother, Marvin Rock. Ivan is survived by his wife Mary Rock; son, Jeff Rock; grandchildren, Zachary Rock, Samuel Rock; nieces, Marilyn (Michael) Balsamo, Colleeta (Ron) DeChant, Diana Caupp; nephew, Rick Evans; and many other relatives and friends. Ivan was a 22 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. During WWII he served on the USS Saratoga in the Battle of Iwo Jima. The family will receive friends Friday, January 8, 2010 from 10-11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father Dan Meyer officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery.
