Iva Swaney

SWANEY, Iva S., 79 of Kettering passed away Saturday, September 23, 2006. Iva was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in West Carrollton. Iva felt very blessed to have a beautiful family and many friends. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She had a warm and friendly personality and always welcomed everyone into her home. Her hobbies included painting, sewing, gardening, and loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Norman E. Swaney; grandson, Mark L. Swaney, Jr.; brother, Elwood Swank. She is survived by her children: Steven Swaney (Connie Ridinger) of Centerville, Mark Swaney of Kettering, Michelle (Craig) Wood of Spring Branch, TX; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Judith (Richard) Johnson of Brookville; special cousin, Phyllis (Cliff) Schoenung of Kettering; and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held 6-8:00PM Thursday, September 28th at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd.), where funeral services will be held 1:00PM Friday, September 29th. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville.
