Iva Jean Wyatt, age 84 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away extremely peacefully on August 11, 2016. She was born on December 11, 1931 on a cold morning in Crab Orchard, TN to a loving mother and father, William and Grace Thompson.
She grew up with several siblings in the beautiful hills of Tennessee, planting gardens, playing in the creek, riding horses and playing on the roof of the barn. She traveled to Ohio as a second grader with her parents and several years later, met her love Quincy, "Red", and married. She brought her children up depending on God and was happy and content with whatever life had to give. She loved her son, Richard, even though he shot a window with his BB gun. He was the center of her world. She loved her grandchildren- most likely more than her children- and was always willing to do what she could for them. She and Red loved when the great-grandchildren, Morgan and Mia, would come and visit and dance to the latest cool songs. Jean was an amazing role model for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her moral code was beyond reproach and it was a pleasure to be in her company up until the very day she passed away. She made everyone feel special.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Quincy T. "Red" Wyatt; as well as two beautiful infant sons, Mark and David.
Jean is survived by her son, Richard (Vickie) Wyatt; daughter, Sandy Clark; grandchildren, Eric Wyatt, Kyle Wyatt, John Zeller, David (Mandie) Zeller; great-grandchildren, Morgan Neal, Mia Zeller, Madison Zeller.
A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439.
