I. Curtis Love was a strong fighter, and on November 21st, 2024, he transitioned to sailing a journey on shores in Glory after a long battle with Huntington's Disease. Born in Ogden, UT December, 7th 1961, he was just about to celebrate his 63rd birthday.
Preceding him in peace were his parents, I. Raub Love and Geneva Pollard Love, his sister, Alice Wise, and his Uncle David Love.
Continuing his legacy of love and laughter, are his friends that are family and family that are friends.
His siblings, Amanda Love and Isaac Love (Erica); special friends, Jayme Green, Bobby White, Jayson and Gail Chamberlain, Chris and Debbie Moore, Lisa Love and Josh Kell; nieces and nephews, Curtis Kell (Brenna); great nephews, William Kell, Carmen Kell (David), Cora (Hunter) Osbourne, Jennifer Wise, Robyn (Nathan) Bons and Sarah Hulsman; aunts, Nancy, and Lorenda; Love Family cousins, Pollard Family cousins, so many more cousins and tremendous friendships.
After graduating from Belmont High School in Dayton, Ohio, Curtis served 12 years in the US Navy, during the Gulf War, and saw 24 countries on naval cruises. He studied machining and was so proud to serve his country.
He loved his work as a machinist and in powder coating, and continued working in that industry for many years after the Navy.
He always carried that Navy pride and patriotism in his love for eagles, tall ships, and lighthouses.
Curtis was big, loud and a true lover of life; loved spending time with family and friends playing games, being outdoors especially at the Pollard family farm, loved gathering at family reunions, cheering on nieces and nephews at their sporting events, he was full of humorous stories and jokes, loved spreading happiness, famous hugger, reader of fantasy books, meticulous painter of D&D figurines, writing poetry, listening to his favorite music on full volume, finding epic Rock concerts to attend, driving with the windows down, riding roller coasters with his hands in the air, and the biggest dedicated Bengals football fan in history. He was a shoulder of support, voice of wisdom and reason, loyal comrade, proud friend to many who considered him a brother or uncle, always helping and giving through thick and thin, and all around great guy. He was truly one of a kind! Curtis will be forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Celebrating his amazing life, visitation will be held from 10:30am-11:30am on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 11:30am.
