Irvin Joseph Rotert, age 88, passed away peacefully Monday, December 3, 2018 at Traditions of Beavercreek with his daughters by his side. He was born May 31, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Clarence and Mildred (Eilerman) Rotert.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Marie (Davies) Rotert,children Steve and Sue , siblings Ethel Page, Anna Mae Kneer and Ben Rotert, Granddaughter Melissa Fortener McLaughlin, her husband John, Great Grandson, John Patrick McLaughlin, and son-in-law Jesse Woolum.
Irvin is survived by daughters, Pamela (Donald) Fortener, Donna Woolum, Grandchildren Jessica (Brian) Hardin, Becky Woolum, Nicholas (Meredith) Fortener, and Matthew Fugate, Great grandchildren, David, Nevaeh, Jessie, Andrew and Maxwell Irvin.
Irvin proudly served his country in the US Navy on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier as an Aviation Metalsmith during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Allied Men's Club, Polish Club, VFW Post 4206 (Melbourne, Fl), VFW Post 9927 (Kettering) and the Slovakian Club. He loved singing Karaoke, playing cards and being with friends and family.
His family would like to thank the staff at Traditions of Beavercreek and Hospice of Dayton for their compassionate, loving care.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 272 Bainbridge St. Dayton, OH.
