Irma Lou Bush, age 71, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday July 17, 2011. She was born on August 30, 1939 in Pennington Gap, VA, to the late Orbin and Maude Oaks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Roy, Garland and Eddie Oaks; and two sisters, Audrey Oaks and Sue Carmack; two brother-in-laws, Ray Thompson and Mack Carmack; and two sister-in-laws, Frankie and Wanda Oaks.
Irma is survived by two children, Gary (Rose) Bush and Sandy (Timm) Smith; their father, David Bush; six grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan, Holly, Amy, Beth and John; four great grandchildren, Elexis, Eisah, Jaylyne and Nimia; one sister, Georgia Thompson; one brother, Jim Oaks; special friends, Toni Sams, Katie Cochran and Judy Wilson; and numerous other family members and good friends.
Irma was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was always in attendance at their extra curricular activities. Irma dedicated 25 years of service to Miami Valley Hospital.
A visitation will be held on Friday July 22, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd. A funeral service will be held on Saturday July 23, 2011 at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irma's memory to The American Cancer Society.
