Irma Hengel, a devoted matriarch born on July 15, 1931, in Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, in Dayton. She was an embodiment of love and warmth, an ornery yet deeply loving soul whose legacy will live on in the hearts of her family.

Irma a quiet life that beautifully centered around her husband and children. For 63 years, she was the beloved partner of Leon Hengel, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life filled with love and devotion, nurturing their family with unwavering support and affection. Her passion for her family was evident, as she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

Irma's spirit shone brightly through her splendid relationships with her two daughters, Jeri Taylor and Kathie (Jerry) McGraner. As a mother, she cultivated an atmosphere of love and care that would forever influence her children. The joy that Irma experienced in the company of her grandchildren — Melissa (Nathan) Harris, Jonathan (Jenna) McGraner, Kristen (Jake) Nickols, Melinda (Matthew) Allen, and Jonah McGraner — was immeasurable. She is reunited now with her beloved Leon, as well as her parents, Ferman and Gladys, and her brothers, Gale (Myrtle), Omar (Betty), and Jerry and her grandson, Jeremy McGraner.
