Brackney, Iris Ann (Wendling) age 71, of Dayton was called home by our Heavenly Father on September 20, 2021.
She was born November 3, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to the late LeRoy and Agnes (Kerschner) Wendling. Iris was a 1968 graduate of St. Joseph Commercial High School in Dayton. She then worked as a secretary in the Water Revenue Dept. for the City of Dayton before ultimately choosing to be a stay-at-home mother.
A devout Catholic, Iris was a member of The Church of the Ascension in Kettering, however, her childhood parish of St. Anthony remained special to her throughout her lifetime.
Iris was know by all of us as a hard worker, a fierce survivor, a devoted mother and grandmother, and an avid pet lover. Iris also loved traveling, with her favorite places being Disney World, Tampa Bay and Myrtle Beach.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Agnes Wendling.
Iris is survived by her loving husband of nearly 42 years, David Brackney; daughter Melanie (Michael) Brown; son Kevin (Stephanie) Brackney, and her 2 beloved granddaughters, Lily and Katelyn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive Kettering, OH 45420. Burial will follow at Davids Cemetery.
