Irene Arnette, 87, of Dayton, passed away December 31, 2016. Irene was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 10, 1929 to the late Charles and Bessie Bayes. In her free time she enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her son, Donald Wayne Gilliam; and brothers, Charles Bayes, Jr., Herbert Bayes, Roy Bayes.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ernest Arnette sons, Roger Gilliam, Dennis (Mitzi) Gilliam; daughter, Jean (Gary) Cavanaugh; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and other relatives and special friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at Miami Valley Memorial Garden Chapel, 1639 East Lytle 5 Point Road and State Route 48 in Centerville where funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm.
