Iona G. Strickland

Iona G. Strickland, 86, of Kettering, passed away June 21, 2017. Iona was born in Waukonda, Illinois on November 13, 1930 to the late Clarence and Elsie Whitman. In her free time she enjoyed reading, playing the accordion, creating cards, poetry and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Iona was preceded in death by her siblings, Doris, LaVerne, Russell, Joyce and Betty.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years William Strickland; son, Barak (Victoria) Strickland; grandson, Darren (Emily Evans) Strickland; granddaughter, Kayla Strickland; brother, Milan (Gerry) Whitman; and many nieces, nephews and friends from the various churches where they ministered.
Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer - Beavercreek Chapel. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 26th, 2017 at 11:00 am at Patterson Park Church 3655 E Patterson Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45430.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Calvary University 15800 Calvary Road Kansas City, Mo. 64147.
