Iona Jewell Brown

Iona Jewell Brown, age 79, of Xenia, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018. She was born in Elliott County, KY to the late Joseph and Sarah Wagoner. Jewell married Winfred Brown on June 9, 1956 and the two had one son, Sidney Dwaine Brown. Jewell retired from Elano Corporation in 1996 after many years of loyal service. She was a long time member of Fairborn Full Gospel Tabernacle, where she regularly attended Bible studies.

Winfred and Jewell enjoyed spending their free time at their cabin on Cave Run Lake and enjoyed being outdoors. Jewell was a skilled quilter and loved to make them for her family. She was a loving, caring, and compassionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Brown; and siblings, Willard D. Wagoner, Wilburn Dexter Wagoner, and Esther Wilson.

Jewell leaves to cherish her memory, son and daughter-in-law, Sidney "Dwaine" and Jean Brown; grandchildren, Ann-Marie (David) Schmitz, Adam (Tracy) Zimmer, and Abby (Cody) Meyer; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lou Vonia Feltner, Loretta (Pete) Davis; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Jewell's Life, will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 1:30pm at Newcomer - Beavercreek Chapel. The family will greet friends and loved ones for one hour prior (12:30pm -1:30pm). Burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jewell's memory to her church, Fairborn Full Gospel Tabernacle.
