SHORT, Ida Belle Clark age 93 of Beavercreek OH, formerly of Keokee, VA. The Lord opened His loving arms January 1, 2012 and took Ida home peacefully and willingly, while Angels rejoice her family weeps.
She and her husband, Jasper, with their children, moved to Dayton, OH in 1952. Ida retired from United Color Press. She was a member of Trinity Christian Assembly Church with long time friend, Pastor Bill Rowe.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Jasper Clark; brothers, Glen Roberts, Willie Roberts, and Frederick Roberts; sisters, Ruby Warren, Eunice Snodgrass, Jessie Mellon, and Mila Holland; and granddaughter, Teresa Lynn Ferguson.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Merrill Short; sons, Harold (Alene) Clark, Earl (Freda) Clark, Jasper (Peggy) Clark; daughters, Phyllis (Richard) Ferguson, and Reatha (Donald) Robertson; her brother, Wade Roberts JR.; her special cousin, Jerry Edens; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her six step-children and their children.
She opened her home to many of her friend's children who moved to Ohio from her hometown in Keokee, VA. She was a devoted Christian who never gave up the cause of bringing family and friends to the Lord. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 am at Trinity Christian Assembly Church, 1146 Grange Hall RD, Beavercreek 45430. Interment to follow at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the church from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
