Ida Mae Rhoden (Groves), age 90 formerly of West Carrollton passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Elmcroft of Xenia. She was born May 12, 1929 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late John Groves and Garnett (Ward) Groves.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Rhoden; sisters, Betty Mortiz and Dolores Havens; son, Daryl Rhoden and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Ida Mae is survived by her children, R. Keith Rhoden, Debra (Greg) Garland, Suzie (Jerry) Smith and Jonathan (Lea Ann) Rhoden; sister, Loretta Rhoden; brother, John (Gail) Groves Jr.; sister-in-law, Charlotte Rhoden, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends. In her latter years her love of her life was her cat Punkin.
Ida Mae was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She always had a smile for everyone. She dedicated her life to raising her 5 children. She enjoyed reading and always watched Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune every night.
Ida Mae was blessed to have Elmcroft of Xenia and Hospice of Dayton caring for her. She was loved by all who cared for her.

Out of an abundance of caution and in consideration for the wellness of family and friends, the family has chosen to have a private services. Miami Valley Memory Gardens will serve as Ida Mae's final resting place.
