MCEWAN, Iain H.D., age 76, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010.
Iain was born April 3, 1934, in Wishaw, Scotland. He and his wife came to Cincinnati in 1957, where Iain took a job with Cincinnati Milling Machine Company. They moved to Kettering in 1967. Iain was later employed by Dayton Machine Tool. Iain graduated from the University of Cincinnati and received his MBA from the University of Dayton. He was a voracious reader, aviation and history buff, and an aficionado of Celtic culture, Arthurian legend and Roman Britain.
Iain is preceded in death by his wife Moira Elizabeth who died in 1998.
He is survived by his sons Andrew Scot McEwan of Dayton and Fraser Thomas (Julie) McEwan of Washington Township; four grandchildren Erika (Jonathon) Stansberry, Lyndsey (Mikey Hinkston) McEwan, Ryan McEwan and Kalyn McEwan; two great-grandsons Jayden and Tyson; and special friend Kathy Wilson.
The family will hold a private memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
