Hubert Mabes Sr.

MABES Sr., Hubert R., age 88, of Dayton, OH passed away Tuesday December 18, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lesley and Maggie Mabes; wife; Betty Mabes; grandchildren, Hubert Mabes III and Melody Mabes; and sisters, Helen Frith and Billie Jean Ratcliffe.

Survivors include sons, Hubert (Peggy) Mabes Jr. and Tom (Cathy) Mabes; step-sons, Ed Jones and Charles (Beth) Jones; grandchildren, Gary (Sonja) Mabes, Amber (Markes) Cornett, Tonya Cox, Shane Cox, and Melanie Mabes; great grandchildren, Tyler, Michael, Lillian, Coltyn, Joshua, and Hunter; sisters, Faye (Bob) Brockman, Betty Joe Kelly, and Shelva (Charles) Barnes; and brother-in-law, Roy Ratcliffe.

Hubert retired from the City of Kettering Street Dept. after 30 years of service. He was an avid baseball fan, especially the Cincinnati Reds. He liked fishing and going to the casino riverboats.

Visitation is Friday December 21, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm with funeral service on Saturday December 22, 2012 at 10am at the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, OH. Pastor Kevin Lloyd is officiating. Interment is in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, OH. A special thanks to Heartland of Centerville and Heartland Hospice for their special care of Hubert.
