Howard T. Huelsman of Centerville, born 02/16/1926 and passed peacefully on 11/25/2011.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anthony & Mildred, siblings, Paul Allen, James, David, Marilyn and John, and by his wife, Mary, whom he joined in Heaven for their 62nd wedding anniversary (11/26/2011).
Howard is survived by his children: Susan (Jim) Ghory of Kettering; Sandie of Jackson, TN; and Tom (Janet) of Springboro; and his grandchildren whom he loved dearly: April & Jim, James Christopher & Sean (Brittany) and Stephanie & TJ (Ashley). He is also survived by his brothers, Charles and Ken, of Dayton.
He was a lifelong resident of Dayton, called away from Chaminade HS to serve his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II. Howard retired from Delco-Moraine where he worked as Tool Design Manager in the Wisconsin Blvd plant. Never one to sit still, he enjoyed his walks and visits to the library, and was a living testament to proper diet and exercise, having survived 30 years following open-heart surgery. He is now free to roam the halls of Heaven to his heart's content.
The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Leonard's Assisted Living for their kind care. Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, South Chapel, will be handling final arrangements. A memorial Mass will be held at noon, Thursday, December 1, at Church of the Incarnation in Centerville, Rev. Lawrence Mierenfeld presiding. Prior to Mass, the family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11am.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the Church of the Incarnation or the St. Leonard Foundation.
