Howard Shank

SHANK, G. Howard, age 67, of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vera Shank; and sister, Carolyn Hughes. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Diana "Sweet Dee"; much loved children, Lisa and husband Chris Sackett, Rich and wife Kim Shank, Beth and husband Tim Suttles, Joel and wife Carla Shank, Chris and wife Jenny Shank, Jeremy "Scooter" Shank; 12 beautiful grandchildren; sister, Pat Piper; other cherished family members, and a multitude of friends. He retired from Sears after 31 years, and served in the US Army and National Guard. His various talents included stained glass art, wood working, and was a computer wiz. There was nothing he couldn't fix, and was always available to anyone who needed help. He was fun loving and enjoyed teasing those he loved. An active member of Gracepoint Community Church, he was a born again Christian, and is now in the presence of his loving Savior. Visitation will be 6-8PM Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Funeral services will be 9AM Friday, December 5, 2008 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens.
