Schirmer, Howard J., 65 of Beavercreek passed away Friday, January 13, 2006. After retiring from 33 years of service with Flowserve, he owned the Furry Friends Pet Grooming shop and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Howard Jr., and a brother, Stanley. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn; children: Robert (Benita) Schirmer, Edward (Carolyn) Schirmer, Kimberly (Edward) Kunk, Scott (Eileen) Schirmer, and Jody Schirmer (Robin Elam); 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Ray (Sue Ann) Schirmer, Rethetta (William) Wax, James (Patsy) Schirmer, and Jeweleen (Dave) Gunder; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 17th at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd.), where funeral services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, January 18th, Pastor Scott Sliver, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton.
