RIGG, Howard A., 80, lifetime resident of Belmont died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Miami Valley Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born in 1925 in Dayton to the late Jacob and Kizzie Rigg. He graduated in 1943 from Stivers HS. Howard was married to the love of his life Billie (Summers) Rigg for 58 years. Howard was preceded in death by his brothers Bob, George, and Richard, sister Esther Rommel, granddaughter Lori Adams, and best friend Paul Rinehart. He is survived by wife Billie, brothers Joseph (Dorothy) and Karl (Joanie) and sisters Ruth (Gerald) Pierce and Jean Wean, sisters-in-law June, Betty (Gene), Ruby (Orville), and brother-in-law Bob Stumpf and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving children Nancy Adams (Lowell), Marcia Welker (Bill), Bill (Amy Anderson), Mark (Debbie) and Debbie North (Scott), and grandchildren Scott (Dione), Amy (Erich), Beth, Kelli, Justin and Michelle, and great-grandchildren Will, Kenzie and Evan, all of whom adored him. He leaves dozens of close friends. Prior to retirement, Howard was a skilled sheet metal worker and a member of Sheet Metal Workers International Local Union 24. He was also a member of the Masonic Temple Alpha Lodge and Belmont United Methodist Church. Howard's life passion was the restoration of antique and classic automobiles. His craftsmanship and expertise were known and respected nationally in automotive circles. He was a long-time member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Packards International and Packards Wright Brothers. He was a mentor to many artisans in the field. A gathering of friends will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd.) on Sunday, April 9th from 5-8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Belmont United Methodist Church on Monday, April 10th at 1 p.m. A private inurnment ceremony for the family will be held at David's Cemetery.
