Homer R. Kidd, age 79, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008. Homer was born October, 30, 1928 in Maryville, TN. Homer served his country in the Armed services during the Korean Conflict, where he was decorated and earned a purple heart. He was preceded in death by his parents William Horace and Lina Kidd; son David Kidd; and brother Robert Kidd. Homer is survived by his wife of 55 years, Juanita Joan Kidd; children John (Shelly) Kidd, Barbara Herath, Gail (Scottie) Cox, Valerie (Gary) Massey, Steven (Thomas Schaeffer) Kidd, Therese (Andrew) Campbell, Timothy (Cheryl) Kidd, grandchildren Paula, Michelle, Shannon, Kassy, Season, Joshua, Jeremiah, Amanda, Geoffrey, Caleb, Melissa, Emily, Trenton, Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren Jerad, Nathan, Riley, Tyler, Sophia; brother Thomas Kidd; and many other friends and relatives. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 6-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11:30am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
