Homer Emerson Lilly, age 93 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 12, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio the son of James W. Lilly and Dollie Stewart Lilly Brady.
Emerson worked for his family business until he took it over in 1958 with his brother-in-law. Owner of A.E. Stewart Floor Sanding, he refinished residential houses and regional high school gymnasiums. Emerson served in the U.S Army and is a Korean War Veteran. Emerson was an avid reader of Western Novels and master of solitaire.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Harold Lilly, Eddie (Chris) Lilly and Ernest (Janet) Lilly; sister, Betty Jeane (Larry) Shively; grandson, Howard Eric Lilly II and nephew, Stephen Lilly.
Emerson is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara; children, Howard (Carla) Lilly and Brenda (Eddy Hooper) Jarvis; numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Clark.
