Heywood Lee Brown, age 91, of Dayton, passed away July 20, 2020. He was born in Rhodell, West Virginia, on November 12, 1928, the son of the late James and Ethel Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Rosa, Ernest and Thomas.
Heywood is survived by his children, Montsho Wamukota Moyenda, Wendell Brown, Marsha Smith, Allison Brown, Stacey Brown; grandchildren, Jason (Mary) Willis, Alexander (Tesia) McCoy-Smith, Chloe Mayfield Brown, Allison Mayfield Brown, Mark Brown; great-grandchildren, Nyla Willis, Eva Willis, and Jayla Willis; best friend, Cisco Harper; and many other loving family and friends.
Heywood was a proud United States Navy Veteran. In civilian life he worked at the Greyhound Bus company, Frigidaire and with General Motors. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Heywood was a faithful man of God throughout his life. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to jazz music, reading, and watching sports.
