Hershell Franklin "Frank" Salyers, Jr., age 77 of Beavercreek, passed away January 21, 2021. He was born September 2, 1943 in Van Lear, Kentucky to the late Hershell and Eleanor Salyers. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Salyers; and brother, James Salyers.
Frank is survived by his sons: Gary Salyers (Gina) and Brian Salyers (Penney); grandchildren: Tyler Salyers and Bethany Salyers; sister, Ruth Annette McWilliams (Mack); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Frank was a 1961 graduate of Van Lear High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Frank worked for the City of Dayton, graduated from Survey school and worked for and retired from the Greene County Water Department. He was a member of Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and was very active in the Gideon's, Dayton Northeast Camp. Frank was an avid bowler and loved working outside with flowers and his apple trees.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. Frank was a very generous man who always gave to many different charities; contributions may be given in his memory to any charity of your choice.
