Hershell E. "Gene" Strutton
Age 80, of Indian Lake Shores, Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009, at his home after an extended illness.
Hershell was preceded in death by his parents, Luther & Fleety Strutton; and by one brother, Roy Strutton.
Gene is survived by his wife of the past 56 years, June (Tempest) Strutton; three children, Michael Strutton, Patricia "Pat" & her husband, Douglas Magilvy and Amy Strutton; one granddaughter, Sarah Magilvy; one sister, Helen Mattes; one brother, Harold & his wife, Barbara Strutton; and by his extended family & many good friends.
Hershell, a carpenter by trade, was the former owner/operator of Ohio Casket Company and was a long-time employee of the City of Dayton and of Beerman Realty Company.
The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 23, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Gene to the Diabetes Association Dayton Area, 2555 S. Dixie Dr., Ste 112, Dayton, Ohio 45409-1539.
