Hershel Collins

Hershel Collins, age 82, of Trotwood, OH, went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2024. Hershel was born in Hyden, KY on September 17, 1942 to the late Raymond Collins and Ora Sizemore. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Collins; mother, Ora (Sizemore) Bell; sister, Alicelee Barker and brother, Ricky Bell.

Hershel is survived by his loving wife of 59 yrs, Cathey Collins; children: Amy Collins (John), Jr Collins (Debbie), Heather Quillen (Erin), Christina Collins, Kayla Casselman (Jeff), Steven Collins, Stephan Collins, Nicole Koch (Michael) and Zach Collins; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

Hershel worked for Weiler Welding as a truck driver for 35 years, where he took an early retirement. He was a loving foster parent for many years to numerous children. Brother Collins began his ministry as an Evangelist, then to serving God as a Pastor for several churches around the Miami Valley. Hershel loved singing gospel songs and playing his guitar. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. 

Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm.
