Hershel B. Creech Age 86 of Moraine passed away March 9, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton.
Hershel was born in Wolfe County, Kentucky on March 3, 1928 to Jasper and Beulah Creech.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister, Angie O'Hair and brothers Elbert, Leon, Kendell and Carl Lee Creech. In addition to his parents and siblings, Hershel was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Faye Creech.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, son Donnie (Carol Smith), stepson Roger (Liz) Watkins, stepdaughter Karen (Jim) Young, brother Jasper (Laurine) Creech and sister, Orene Stockdale. Also surviving are his two precious granddaughters, Jenny (Brian) Harves and Julie (Adam) Sychra, along with three adorable great grandchildren Chloe and Drew Harves and Ruby Jean Sychra. Hershel also leaves behind numerous extended family and friends.
Hershel retired from General Motors after 43 years of service and has been a faithful member of the Moraine City First Church of God since accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1955. In addition to the Lord and his family, Hershel's other love was bluegrass and southern gospel music. He traveled for over twenty years with his dear friend, Pearl Ford singing and playing guitar with the Dayton Harvesters Quartet. He was also a mainstay in the music ministry at Moraine City singing and playing with multiple groups throughout the years.
A homegoing celebration will be held at the Moraine City First Church of God, 5867 Springboro Pike on Thursday, March 13th at 1:00pm with visitation beginning at 11:00am. Pastors Russell Hays and Glenn Sizemore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to Hospice of Dayton or a charity of your choice.
