Herman A. Funk, of Centerville, OH, passed away March 9, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Springfield, OH, to the late Charles and Reva (Stephens) Funk. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann (Virgil) Riley, Nancy (Don) Stoops and his brother, Dale Funk.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sherrill Funk; sons, Bryan (Shari) Sturgill and Jonathan (Jacqueline) Funk; grandchildren, Dr. Amanda Sturgill, Emilie Sturgill, and grandchildren of the heart, Tyler Gamber and Ashley Crawford; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. His special little dogs, Sophie and Sammie, who delighted him daily.
Herman will always be known for his love of the Lord. You couldn't be around him more than five minutes that he didn't turn the conversation to the Lord. His hearts desire was to lead people to the Lord. He was a Godly example to all who knew him. He adored Sherrill, the love of his life and told her not to cry, that they would run all over heaven together. We are sure he didn't go quietly into the Lord's presence but running, leaping into the Lords' arms.
It was Herman's request not to have a public service. His life was his testimony and he wanted to be remembered for that. He will be privately entombed with his family by his side at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens.
Thank you to Drs. Butler, Romer and Hospice for their loving care of our loved one.
